Job Summary

USIS, Inc., a subsidiary of Brown & Brown, Inc., is seeking experienced vocational specialists or Registered Nurse RNs (6 positions available) to assess and coordinate return to work status for workers’ compensation cases within a geographic area* in Georgia.  Will consider Physical Therapist or Occupational Therapist meeting the qualifications.

In this role, the selected candidates will be responsible for assessment of the positions/job duties at assigned work locations for potential modified duty assignments.  Our team will rely on you to coordinate injured employees return to work by direct contact with employer of injury; job search efforts; labor market surveys and job analyses.  Work is conducted outside the office; territory designated; travel is required.


Essential Duties:

  • Responsible for the direction and management of return-to-work efforts for injured employees.
  • Maintain and submit timely and accurate productivity documentation.
  • Liaise with employers to understand work environments, find opportunities for light duty placement availability, encourage RTW advantages.
  • Evaluate, implement and monitor the effectiveness of transitional work plans including time projections.
  • Coordinate site visits with assigned agencies to train, motivate and create transitional work opportunities; handle personal visits with the injured employee to determine status and needs, including return-to-work options and goals.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

Required Skills

  • Vocational Consultant with at least 2 years’ experience in industrial or occupational case management, and/or vocational services. Will consider an RN or Physical Therapist or Occupational Therapist with similar experience.
  • Prefer at least one of the following credentials: CRRN, COHN, CDMS, CCM, CRC.
  • Advanced knowledge in Workers’ Compensation claims, including MCO, preferred
  • Proof of current State Certification and Licensure; proof of $100,000/$300,000 insurance limits and good MVR
  • Field case management experience desired – Workers’ Comp preferred.
  • Good working knowledge of return-to work or job accommodation processes
  • Must be a self-directed team player, able to work independently and travel as required.
  • Ability to effectively operate a personal computer and related claims and business software.
  • Good communication skills, both oral and written, along with good analytical and interpretive skills
  • Able to work independently, using discretion and integrity.
  • Positive and enthusiastic attitude, self-motivated professional.
