Job Summary

Winston Benefits, a Brown & Brown company, is seeking a Training & Development Manager to join our team! The Training and Development Manager will actively lead projects focused on aligning learning and development solutions with the needs of business.  The Training and Development Manager supervises training staff, oversees recordkeeping of training documents and supports the function of training all employees. Leading the design, development, pilot, delivery and evaluation of innovative learning and capability development solutions.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Pursue knowledgeable of all products and services offered by Winston Benefits.
  • Gain proficiency in workflow processes within the Winston Benefits organization.
  • Work with Subject Matter Experts and Managers to develop new training material and maintenance of existing programs.
  • Monitors and executes tasks for all employees to meet licensing and other regulations.
  • Designs and maintains new employee orientation training manual to include relevant policies, procedures, systems and communication protocol.
  • Designs management training courses to develop leadership and communication skills.
  • Uses professional writing skills when communicating and developing material.
  • Mentor other trainers in the subject matter, content and course delivery techniques for assigned courses.
  • Creates and maintains training calendar and coordinates with department subject matter experts to deliver specialized training as needed. Including monthly soft skills training and compliance training.
  • Facilitate instructor-led classroom training and individual training on product knowledge and customer service skills for Company.
  • Support the development and execution of company initiatives.
  • Conduct training for new hires by providing an introduction to Life and Health insurance benefits; develop customer service skills; individual sales coaching techniques and provide ongoing assistance.
  • Improving training effectiveness by developing new approaches and techniques.


Required Skills

  • Bachelors Degree; Masters Degree preferred.
  • 5-10 years of training experience.
  • 3-5 years of supervisory experience
  • 3-5 years of insurance sales and /or training experience is preferred.
  • At least 3 years of agency/consultant/broker/carrier experience
  • Have a current NJ Producer License (Life and A&H).

Salary Range

Negotiable, depending on professional experience.
