Job Summary

Brown & Brown Inc. is looking for a Senior Licensing Administrator to join our growing team. This position will provide support to all our business segments by handling corporate licensing as well as administrative operations applicable to the teams we support.  This position is for an experienced individual, who would ensure adherence to each state’s requirements for applicable licensing needs.

 

Essential Duties and Functions: include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

  • Processing and submitting license applications, new and renewal
  • Responsible for maintaining insurance licenses for various entities and officers
  • Understand licensing requirements for all license types including risk purchase groups, third party administrators, premium finance
  • Responsible for follow-up on tasks and pending items to ensure all applications are complete with all necessary information and supporting documents
  • Update files and maintain our licensing database with current information
  • Submit licensing change such as address changes, name changes, and DRLP changes
  • Knowledge of the insurance licensing model and licensing processes and websites (NIPR, State Based Systems, Vertafore)
  • Tracking and paying invoices and allocating to the appropriate profit centers
  • Potential travel to licensing conferences

Required Skills

Required

  • High School and some college
  • 5-7 years’ experience in a similar position
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • Insurance License or Designation

Preferred

  • Associate or Bachelor degree in a business or financial related discipline
  • Knowledge of secretary of state filings
  • Experience completing NAIC Biographical Affidavits
  • Experience with processing carrier appointments
  • Knowledge of the surplus lines tax filing process
  • Notary
