Job Summary

Brown & Brown is seeking an experienced Population Health Clinical Consultant to join our team! This individual will be responsible for consulting up and down market to self-funded employers, as well as supporting the development and growth of our Clinical and Population Health consulting capabilities. The Consultant will be expected to work independently, support client engagements from a clinical and well-being perspective and participate in the national initiatives related to our Population Health team.

 

Essential Duties and Functions:

  • Participate in Requests for Proposal and sales processes for new business as appropriate
  • Collaborate with client account teams to provide population health consulting at a strategic level (e.g., develop data-driven strategies to manage health risk and well-being) and operational level (e.g., support vendor/program selection and engagement strategy implementation)
  • Provide consultation on population health vendor/program performance (e.g., clinical, operational and financial metrics) on behalf of clients
  • Provide consulting for worksite clinic/clinician projects
  • Perform medical and behavioral health clinical assessments of carriers and vendors
  • Assist with training and mentoring of internal stakeholders on population health and clinical topics
  • Provide clinical and operational support for development and management of our employer collectives with best in class vendors
  • Develop expertise in specialty areas/topics as needed by the business (e.g., onsite care, COVID, COEs, new primary care models, and virtual care)
  • Assist with the development and delivery of white papers, FAQs, points of view, sales & marketing materials, internal training and external presentations
  • Keep current on industry innovations and best practices
  • Present at local/regional/national industry conferences and seminars
  • Other duties may be assigned

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Experience consulting to mid-size and large employers on population health and innovative approaches/solutions
  • Knowledge of the self-insured employee benefits marketplace, trends and innovations
  • Knowledge of the health care delivery system, digital health and medical carrier/TPA capabilities
  • Knowledge of the population health vendor “point solution” marketplace
  • Marketing and communications – familiarity with basic marketing and communications concepts including social media
  • Oral and written communications – expresses ideas effectively, organizes and delivers information appropriately and listens actively; experience presenting to client C-suites, industry and employer groups
  • Analytical – aptitude to interpret population health and benefits data and analytics
  • Planning/organizing – plans and organizes tasks and work responsibilities to achieve objectives. Sets priorities, schedules activities and works efficiently and independently

Required Skills

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 to 10 years of clinical/population health industry experience. Employee benefits consulting experience is preferrable.
  • Licensed RN, MPH, MSW preferred
  • Expertise/experience in behavioral health desirable
  • Energetic and enthusiastic about the mission to improve health, healthcare costs, productivity, and employee experience and engagement
  • Valid Life & Health License preferred, not required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams)
  • Willingness to travel 20% or more as COVID permits
