Job Summary

The Employee Benefits Operations Leader coordinates all matters relating to the staffing, retention and supervision of the Benefits support staff. The Employee Benefits Operations Leader is  responsible for monitoring the department’s accounts receivables.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Hire new teammates
  • Interview candidates
  • Negotiate salary
  • Interface with Accounting Department
  • Regulate the Benefits File Audits which are a requirement of the Errors & Omissions Insurance Carrier
  • Provide Administrative Supervision of support staff
  • Conduct all performance and salary reviews
  • Participate in counseling of employees
  • Coordinate time-off scheduling (i.e., vacations, etc.
  • Monitor and approve purchases within monetary authority (i.e. supply requisitions, purchase orders, etc.)
  • Work with Profit Center Leader and other Team Leaders in preparation of the annual budget:
  • Participate in the planning process of the budget
  • Provide projections for additional personnel needs
  • Work with Profit Center Leader or other Team Leaders on special projects
  • Assume management of current client base
  • Support and initiate new business opportunities
  • Assist clients in the development, marketing, implementation, administration and communication of benefit plans
  • Organize and complete information for submission of new and renewal business
  • Preparation of Request for Proposals, analysis of carrier proposals and preparation of client presentations
  • Coordinate and conduct employee meetings for open enrollment
  • Review contracts, prepare documents and maintain client e-files

  • Bachelor’s degree in a business or financial related discipline OR 2-3 years experience in a similar role
