Currently, Brown & Brown Insurance Services of California, Inc. is seeking a skilled Account Executive who will be responsible for maintaining in force block of business. This role includes renewals and employee meetings for Employee Benefits accounts, as needed. Further, you will have the exciting opportunity to write new business as the accounts renew.

Essential Duties and Functions:

  • Review and coordinate annual renewals with employers/coordinate with producer
  • Requesting alternate quotes as needed
  • Develop and present renewal information
  • Negotiate renewal when appropriate
  • Add additional lines of coverage as needed
  • Confirm renewal with carriers and any corresponding plan changes
  • Claims analysis and review
  • Maintain client services throughout the year (administration issues, billing, eligibility, claims)
  • Coordinate and update our client system, policies, and files for assigned clients
  • Develop and maintain excellent client and carrier relationships
  • Maintain all required documentation needed for compliance for each assigned client
  • Review contracts, policies, EOCs, SPDs, SBCs and Third Party Administrative Agreements
  • Create SPD Wrap Document
  • Conduct Open Enrollment meetings and travel as needed
  • Write Annual Open Enrollment Newsletters, Employee Memo’s and other communication pieces
  • Coordinate client health fairs and implement wellness strategies as needed
  • Assist with documentation for client benefit websites and online enrollment
  • Keeps current on changes in legislation impacting employee benefit programs
  • Continue professional development
  • Other duties as they may be assigned

Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Service oriented
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Superior organizational skills, strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
  • Positive attitude and commitment to working in a team environment
  • Strong technical skills, high level of proficiency with Word and Excel
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • Knowledge of ACA, HIPAA, COBRA, FMLA, Form 5500 requirements, etc.
  • Must possess a current Life and Health License
  • Ability to travel to client meetings, prospect meetings and industry events
  • 2-5 years’ experience in a similar position


  • Bilingual – Spanish
  • Knowledge of self-funding
