Job Summary

Summary:

The ideal person in this position provides personal lines support in maintaining, expanding, and servicing assigned accounts. Great position for someone who has begun a career in insurance and wants opportunities to grow with a large organization!

 

Essential Duties and Functions:

  • Process daily mail, including faxes and e-mail, for assigned accounts
  • Answer and process all telephone requests for assigned accounts
  • Enter all required data into system to maintain current file data on all assigned accounts
  • Review personal applications, renewal requests and endorsements for adherence to underwriting authority and guidelines as established by the company’s carriers
  • Underwriting, rating, and generating new business
  • Renewal marketing including, but not limited to rating and quoting assigned personal lines risks
  • Prepare and process binders of insurance, policies, endorsements, certificates of insurance, audits, and cancellations as defined in the company procedures’ manual
  • Validate coverages and ratings policies, endorsements, audits, cancellations, etc.
  • Maintain suspense or follow-up system for correspondence/requests
  • Prepare billings and/or invoices on a timely basis
  • Advise accounting of the appropriate posting of moneys received on assigned accounts
  • Assist in the collection of premiums and audits as defined in the procedures manual
  • Provide back-up to other Account Managers as assigned
  • Maintain expiration records
  • Develop and maintain working relationship with the various company marketing representatives and underwriters
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of the various carriers’ rating plans and programs
  • Maintain favorable relationship with clients, producers, and employees
  • Develop and maintain strong technical knowledge of personal lines coverages and rating
  • Perform clerical functions including, but not limited to submitting and sending faxes, proofreading and photocopying documents
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Required Skills

Required Minimum Education

  • High school diploma
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite
  • 2 years of service experience in the insurance industry—good technical knowledge of coverages in all personal lines insurance coverage
  • 4-40 state license

Preferred

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree
  • Industry software experience
