Brown & Brown Insurance’s Alpharetta office is growing and seeking an exceptional individual with proven discipline, drive, and commitment to join our team as Customer Service Representative (Jr. Account Manager) for our Employee Benefits Team.  Our clients are small to large employers and we offer them cost-effective benefit packages for their employees and dependents, that include medical, dental, vision, life, disability, HSA’s, FSA’s, STD, LTD, and more.

The hired individual will be highly motivated and be responsible for maintaining the overall book of business while assisting customers and working with Producers on new business, using a variety of skills and knowledge of the insurance market, products, and competition. Provides a source of benefits expertise and excellent customer service to clients and prospects.  Assists in the growth and retention for the agency.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage and retain existing book of business.
  • Provide customer relations with all levels of client’s decision-makers as well as the day-to-day technical client representatives.
  • Receives and reviews expiration reports 120 days prior to expiration. Responsible for securing renewal information on a timely basis and preparing renewal specifications.
  • Prepares proposals for renewals.
  • Assists with responsibility for placement of coverage with carriers.
  • Develop and oversee customer service plans for each client and understand the needs of the customer.
  • Responsible for all routine change requests and questions from client during year.
  • Follow Agency guidelines, policies and procedures
  • Remain current on industry trends and information, new product development, legislation, coverage and technology.
  • Remain up to date with current market conditions and status of competition.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Required Skills

  • 3+ years’ of experience working in Employee Benefits
  • Current State of Georgia Life and Health Insurance License
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office Suite, especially Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Publisher
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • Ability to work independently and carry out assignments with minimum supervision
  • Strong grasp of customer service functions, office procedures, insurance regulations and policies.
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, communication and organizational skills.
  • Adaptable and dependable.

Preferred

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s in a Business, HR, Healthcare or related discipline
  • Experience with Vertafore (Benefit Point, ImageRight), and Benergy
