Job Summary

Summary:   

Provide continuous service to commercial lines new and existing clients. Assist producer in retention of business. Through servicing, develop a thorough knowledge of the accounts, becoming a liaison between the insured, the producer, other departments within the agency and the carriers.

Essential Duties and Functions:  include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

  • Review and implement Commercial Lines Processing procedures in order to:
    • Reduce E&O potential liabilities
    • Incorporate the capabilities of the computer system into your daily workflow
    • Increase your utilization of the agency management system
    • Streamline your workflow
    • Correspond directly with the insurance company on underwriting matters, keeping the producer informed of the activity
    • Communicate directly with clients on insurance matters, keeping the producer informed of the activity
  • Follow agency Commercial Lines procedures for processing:
    • New business
    • Renewals including renewal proposal
    • Endorsements
    • Cancellations
    • Audits
    • Certificates of Insurance
    • Reporting Forms
    • File Documentation
    • All other procedures
  • Maintain a current knowledge of insurance coverages and exposures and their available markets.
  • Timely and accurate processing of all billings
  • Research and answer insured’s questions regarding coverage
  • Provide full servicing of your insured’s account
  • Delegate various technical and clerical functions for assigned Technical Assistant
  • Miscellaneous duties as assigned by the Commercial Lines Team Leader

Required Skills

Required:

  • High School Diploma
  • Computer literate
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite – exceptional Excel knowledge
  • Exceptional telephone demeanor
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • 3-5 years Insurance Experience as Account Manager Experience
  • Knowledge of municipality insurance coverages
  • Technical knowledge of Standard ISO products, non-traditional lines of coverage, excess and surplus lines, and manuscript policies/endorsements.
  • Florida 220 Property and Casualty Insurance License

Preferred:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a business or financial related discipline
  • Maintain or obtain advanced insurance designations
