Job Summary

Brown & Brown of Florida, Inc’s West Palm Beach office is growing and seeking an exceptional individual with proven discipline, and commitment to join our team as Client Account Manager for our Commercial Lines Team.  The Client Account Manager will work closely with the Commercial Lines Team Leader and Commercial Producers to achieve Agency sales goals and service standards. The Client Account Manager provides commercial lines support in maintaining, expanding, and servicing assigned accounts.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Answer and process all telephone and email requests for assigned accounts in a timely manner.
  • Develop and maintain strong technical knowledge of commercial lines coverages and rating.
  • Enter all required data into system to maintain current file data on all assigned accounts.
  • Review Commercial applications, renewal requests and endorsements for adherence to underwriting authority and guidelines as established by the company’s carriers.
  • Prepare and process binders of insurance, policies, endorsements, certificates of insurance, audits and cancellations.
  • Validate coverages and ratings in policies, endorsements, audits, cancellations, etc.
  • Maintain suspense system for correspondence/requests.
  • Process premium finance agreements as needed.
  • Prepare billings and/or invoices on a timely basis.
  • Advise accounting of the appropriate posting of moneys received on assigned accounts.
  • Assist in the collection of premiums and audits.
  • Provide back-up to other Account Managers as assigned.
  • Maintain expiration reports.
  • Develop and maintain working relationship with various company underwriters.
  • Maintain favorable relationship with clients, producers and employees.
  • Perform clerical functions including, but not limited to submitted and sending faxes, proofreading and photocopying documents.
  • Process daily mail, including faxes and e-mail for assigned accounts.
  • Perform other duties and assigned.

Required Skills

  • 2-20 Florida P&C License highly preferred.  4-40 Licensed professionals will be considered with the commitment they will promptly get their 2-20
  • 3+ years’ experience working in Commercial Lines Customer Service or Account Management, experience in an independent agency highly preferred
  • Good technical knowledge of coverage in all commercial lines insurance
  • Exceptional telephone demeanor
  • Technology Savvy and proficient with MS Office Suite
  • Ability to multi-task, have good accuracy, proficient typing
  • Qualities that include being driven, self-starting, strong work ethic
  • Competencies that include being problem solver, adaptable, demonstrator of quality and thoroughness
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
