Brown & Brown Insurance is currently seeking a Commercial Lines Assistant to join our team in Baton Rouge, LA. The Commercial Lines Assistant will perform clerical functions, working independent of direction from a manager or supervisor.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but not limited to, the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Review new and renewal business applications to confirm policy accuracy.
  • May assist in implementing improvements to processing work flows.
  • Correspond and maintain contact with Client Service Manager on new and renewal business.
  • Operate a personal computer and appropriate software packages or their equivalent.
  • Maintain files, records or reports

Required Skills


  • High School Diploma
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Exceptional telephone demeanor
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality


  • 1-3 years experience in a similar position
