Job Summary

Brown & Brown of Florida’s Miami Lakes office is growing and seeking an exceptional individual with proven discipline, and commitment to join our team as Associate (Assistant) Account Manager, Commercial Insurance Lines. Our clients include businesses in a variety of industries.  The Associate will work closely with the Commercial Lines Client Account Manager, Commercial Producers and the Commercial Lines Marketing Rep to service new and existing accounts to achieve Agency sales goals and service standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Continue developing a full working knowledge of Commercial Lines procedures
  • Handle client request for information, endorsements, cancellations and other services as required.
  • Assist in analyzing insurance exposures and account summaries
  • Assist in recommending coverages or coverage changes based upon client needs
  • Be proficient in available carrier rating systems where provided for Agency use
  • Review policies, endorsements, audits and quotations prepared by our carriers for accuracy and completeness
  • Assist in compilation and preparation of marketing and underwriting data, including but not limited to: loss runs, motor vehicle reports, insurance binders, certificates, automobile identifications cards, invoices and similar items
  • Assist in resolving omitted items and commission differences when necessary
  • Keep the Client Account Manager informed of any service problems
  • Utilize agency automation with a high level of knowledge and proficiency
  • Process incoming and outgoing mail for the account
  • Follow procedures as established by management
  • Pursue a program of personal and professional development
  • Other duties may be assigned

Required Skills

  • 2+ years data entry and administrative experience in any office setting required
  • 4-40 or 2-20 P&C License with some insurance office customer service experience highly preferred
  • Working knowledge of MS Office Suite, especially Excel and Word
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Complete tasks timely and accurately
  • Confidence, Initiative
  • Organized, Detail-Oriented
  • Ability to maintain standards of quality and quantity of output as established by Commercial Lines Management
  • High School Diploma
