Job Summary

Brown & Brown in Albany, NY is seeking an experienced Employee Benefits Account Manager to join our team! This individual will be responsible for client service, account support and fulfillment using a variety of skills, resources and knowledge of the insurance market, products, services and legislation. Handles all aspects of account servicing and client relationship as well as overall account retention and expansion of assigned book of business.   Provides account leadership and facilitates delegation to other team members.

Duties and Functions:

  • Develop long term relationships with the portfolio of assigned
  • Lead team on assigned accounts
  • Effectively manage client expectations, understand needs and executive plan(s) to successfully fulfill client needs.
  • Retain existing business and expand account scope and reach with cross selling additional lines of business
  • Create client service plans and execute in accordance.
  • Spend appropriate amount of time in and out the office commensurate with customers’ needs and new business
  • Provide customer relations with all levels of client’s decision makers including appropriate industry education and strategy for the
  • Ensure proper resources from within the organization are involved with the customer and introduce new products through the other core business groups where
  • Develop and oversee customer service plans for each client in accordance with customer needs.
  • Use the brokerage builder system to capture and maintain up to date sale and prospecting information.
  • Present proposals to the customer ensuring appropriate team members and resources are represented/attend.
  • Ensure current knowledge of Carrier Requirements and Underwriting
  • Maintain understanding of relevant insurance industry standards and legislation.
  • Follow BBA guidelines, policies, procedures and protocols.

Required Skills

  • High School diploma, required.
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferred.
  • 3-5+ years experience in a similar capacity.
  • Valid Life, Accident and Health NYS insurance license

Salary Range

Negotiable, depending on professional experience.
