Job Summary

Brown & Brown of Florida—Jacksonville is growing and seeking an exceptional individual with proven discipline, and commitment to join our team as Account Manager for our Employee Benefits Division. The Account Manager will handle a client portfolio and work with producers/sales professionals and teammates to service new and existing clients, help maintain positive client relationships, and provide high quality of service to assigned accounts with a focus on the profitability of the business to the agency.

  • New Business marketing including, but not limited to rating and quoting employee benefit lines
  • Spend approximately 25-50% of the time outside of the office with clients.
  • Renewal marketing including, but not limited to rating and quoting assigned employee benefit accounts
  • New Business & Renewal Underwriting including, but not limited to gathering missing enrollment information and all underwriting status follow up
  • Work directly with group administrators to assist and educate on the proper administration procedures, State & Federal COBRA, additions & termination and all other administrative procedures
  • Assist employees with unresolved claim issues while educating them on the claims processing system
  • Process daily mail, including faxes and e-mail, for assigned accounts
  • Answer and process all telephone requests for assigned accounts
  • Enter all required data into system to maintain current file data on all assigned accounts
  • Maintain & annually update the physical account files
  • Maintain suspense or follow-up system for correspondence/requests
  • Provide back-up to other Account Analysts as assigned
  • Maintain expiration records
  • Develop and maintain working relationship with the various company marketing representatives and underwriters
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of the various carriers’ rating plans and programs
  • Maintain favorable relationship with clients, producers, and employees
  • Develop and maintain strong technical knowledge of employee benefit lines of coverage and rating
  • Perform clerical functions including, but not limited to submitting and sending faxes, proofreading and photocopying documents
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Skills

Required

  • Proficient with MS Office Suite
  • State of FL Customer Representative License (2-18)
  • Strong technical knowledge of coverage in all employee benefits insurance coverage

Preferred

  • 4 year college degree
  • 5+ years industry experienced

Salary Range

Negotiable
