Account Executive (Small Commercial Lines)

Location: Tampa, FL
Job Summary:
This position sells and services professional liability, property, general liability, workers’ compensation, wind, flood and other related insurance products to lawyers, dentists, podiatrists, insurance agents and other professional clients.
Required Competencies:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
•Development and successful acquisition of new business revenue from new clients
•Prospecting market sectors to identify potential clients
•Development and implementation of marketing solicitations to sell new and existing products to clients and prospects
•Obtain prospects and actively pursue and create interest through telephone calls, letters and/or personal visits.
•Identify exposures and determine proper coverage.
•Obtain client data and underwriting information and assess eligibility for programs. Work with insurance companies to underwrite, price and secure coverage.
•Complete applications and submit forms necessary to secure policies. Deliver policies and endorsements to customers.
•Prepare and process binders of insurance, policies, endorsements, certificates of insurance, audits and cancellations in accordance with office procedure.
•Prepare insurance summaries and proposals.
•Review commercial applications, renewal requests and endorsements for adherence to underwriting authority and guidelines as established by the various companies.
•Record and report loss notices to carrier.
•Communicate with existing clients to obtain renewal information and create new sales opportunities by upgrading contracts or cross-selling other coverage. Solicit referrals from existing clients.
•Prepare billings/invoices in a timely manner. Maintain account receivables to a maximum 59-day standard.
•Compose and prepare correspondence to prospects, clients and insurers.
•Field phone calls from prospects and existing clients; attendance (in house) required.
•Perform other duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
•Strong technical knowledge of coverage in all commercial lines insurance
•Good verbal and written communications skills; Good organization and prioritizing skills
•Ability to create and foster client rapport
•Expertise with personal computers and related software
•Minimum of State of Florida Agents License (2-20) required
•Travel required
