    Position Description:

    The Account Manager supports the Account Executive in their efforts to sell Brown & Brown’s expertise, capabilities and Employee Benefit insurance programs to middle market sized businesses, and provide service after the sale. Helps to identify each client’s potential risks and exposures and assists in designing the proper insurance coverage programs which are required. Responsible for all aspects of the marketing, servicing and maintaining the client’s insurance program, the Account Manager is the primary contact between our client and the insurance companies providing coverage.  

     

    Responsibilities & Duties:

    • Monitors the expiration list to ensure all groups are contacted based on the established procedures.
    • Develops and maintains frequent and direct contact with each client.
    • Assists clients with coverage questions, exposure identification and solutions, billing or carrier service problems.
    • Directly resolves (or oversees the satisfactory resolution of) all client problems or concerns.
    • Coordinates and attends new business and renewal employee meetings to ensure benefit package is clearly communicated to the employees.
    • Maintains up to date and current status on items / issues suspensed
    • Reviews, responds to and integrates the responses received on the Exposure Checklists.
    • Works with Account Executive/Producer with the information gathering process for new and renewal business.
    • Assists with quality preparation of all new business and renewal submissions and ensures their timely delivery to the markets.
    • Prepares all client presentations by the deadlines established and ensures that current Brown & Brown proposal with all necessary disclaimers are used on every new business and renewal proposal.
    • Ensures all carriers utilized are A- rated or better or that the proper Carrier Exception Request process has been followed and documented on each affected account.
    • Completes all QC incident reports, as necessary, for situations that occur emanating from the client service team.

    Account Manager - Personal Lines - Austin, TX

    Job Summary:

    Brown & Brown of Austin is seeking a motivated Account Manager to service Personal Lines accounts, including the renewal, collection, claims and service process. This individual must be familiar with company underwriting guidelines, is knowledgeable in Personal Lines coverages and have ability to develop and maintain rapport with clients along with company underwriters to solicit new coverage and develop existing accounts.

     

    The Account manager will be responsible for deciphering between agency service and service center clients. Other duties include, but are not limited to, directing service center clients to the appropriate service center and facilitate the client’s transition into the service center. We will rely on you to utilize and have the client utilize all available service centers to their full capacity.

     

    Responsibilities:

    • Review customer needs and oversee the renewal process which includes preparation of submissions; making submissions directly to the appropriate companies and brokers; communication with companies/brokers to obtain the best insurance package at the most competitive rates; preparing and the presentation of the proposal.
    • Binding coverage with the company and either issue proof of coverage for the customer or have the carrier issue proof of coverage whenever available.
    • Securing approval for certificates and either create Master Certificate when necessary or have the carrier issue certificates whenever available.
    • Manage the ordering, checking, processing and mailing or delivering of customer’s insurance policies on new business and agency service clients.
    • Manage the maintenance of customer electronic files.
    • Contact customers for collection of premiums as necessary.
    • Provide clients with the appropriate company contact information to report claims.  When necessary, take claim information; verify coverage and make sure claim is reported timely to the company. 
    • Answer questions and resolve problems for customers.
    • Manage the ordering, processing and invoicing of change requests initiated by the customer or provide client with the appropriate service center information to process change requests.
    • Manage and evaluate any other processes that are delegated to Administrative Assistant or Clerical Assistant.
    • Obtain expiration dates for policies not written by B & B and follow up with quotes.
    • Refer group life, and health leads to the appropriate department.

    Job Summary:

    The Sales Executive/Producer works to sell Brown & Brown expertise, capabilities and Property/Casualty/Employee Benefits insurance programs to middle market sized businesses. To identify each client’s potential risks and exposures and design the proper insurance coverage programs which are required. Identifies coverage gaps or deficiencies in a prospect’s current insurance program and highlights unmet service needs which can then be capitalized upon by the B&B team to dislodge their current agent/broker. Sales Executives develop winning strategies and tactics to successfully win and retain clients.

     

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    •  Meet and/or exceed sales goals by selling new business and retaining current clients
    • Cold calls to new prospects to set appointments to describe Brown & Brown’s services and expertise
    • Update inventory and weekly call log reports
    • Assists clients with coverage questions, exposure identification and solutions to exposure items
    • Directly resolves (or oversees the satisfactory resolution of any escalated client issues or concerns
    • Reviews client contracts and approves complicated (non-standard) certificate requests
    • Responsible for completion of exposure checklists within quality control guidelines for new and renewal business
    • Directs the update of exposures at renewal, assists the Account Manager with gathering information as needed, and assists the client with the preparation of applications and supplemental applications necessary for renewal
    • Directs the quality preparation of executive summary and narrative for all submissions and ensures their timely delivery to Marketing
    • Reviews and assimilates information from prospect, prepares submission for marketing, obtains additional information from client as needed
    • Perform special projects as requested by Sales Manager
