    Commercial Lines Account Manager - Norfolk, VA

    Job Summary:

    Brown & Brown is looking for a customer service focused individual to join our growing Commercial Lines department in an Account Manager capacity! This individual will be responsible for servicing a set book of clients in handling day to day service requests including renewal marketing.

     

    Responsibilities:

    • Process daily mail, including faxes and e-mail, for assigned accounts.
    • Answer and process all telephone requests for assigned accounts.
    •  Maintain account files in an orderly sequence according to established procedures.
    • Secure Insurance Coverage Review checklist on New and Renewal accounts over $2,500 in revenue.
    • Enter all required data into system to maintain current file data on assigned accounts.
    • Review commercial applications, renewal requests and endorsements for adherence to underwriting authority and guidelines as established by the company’s carriers.
    • Handle renewal marketing of accounts.
    • Attend carrier and industry meetings and seminars.
    • Prepare and process binders of insurance, policies, and endorsements, certificates of insurance, audits, and cancellations as defined in the company procedures manual.
    • Pursue a program of personal and professional development.
    • Develop and maintain working relationship with various company marketing representatives and underwriters.
    • Maintain favorable relationship with clients, Producers, and fellow employees.
    • Develop and maintain strong technical knowledge of commercial lines coverage & rating.
    • Perform clerical functions when assigned.

    Commercial Marketing Executive - Norfolk, VA

    Job Summary:

    Brown & Brown in Norfolk, VA is seeking an experienced commercial insurance professional to join our marketing team! This individual will assist in renewal and new business insurance placement activities.

     

    Responsibilities:

    • Develop strategies to win new business.
    • Disbursement and tracking of submissions to the marketplace.
    • Follow up and negotiation of quotes with appropriate carries.
    • Document all marketing activity in the agency management system (TAM) by maintaining an up to date marketing summary.
    • Ensure that systems, procedures, and insurance company regulations are adhered to by the department and alert management should any problems arise.
    • Assist in the training and development of members of the team.
    • Identify, design, and implement placement strategies for the Agency, encompassing new products and services, identification and selection of target markets, and tailored/unique coverages.
    • Communicate new opportunities, market trends, and carrier information to all m members of the commercial lines team.
    • Adherence to the established marketing guidelines set by Marketing Leader.
    • Offer flexibility in guidelines when accounts warrant it, per Marketing Leader approval.
    • Rate new policies and complete applications and other required documentation.
    • Prepare accurate proposals and coordinate the layout of the proposal and presentation with producers/account executives.
    • Prepare invoices, applications and other required documentation to bind accounts.
    • Transition bound accounts to the assigned Commercial Service Representative and Commercial Lines Leader with appropriate communication with Marketing Leader.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.
