    Responsibilities:

    • Work professionally with customers via phone, e-mail, and fax regarding their account(s)
    • Provide prompt, efficient, and accurate service to address customers’ needs
    • Facilitate the rewrite/renewal of commercial insurance accounts, including obtaining quotes and issuing proposals
    • Process endorsements, audits, ID cards, certificates of insurance, etc.
    • Invoice agency bill items and following up with customers for premiums due
    • Maintain adequate book of business retention
    • Develop and maintain relationships with insurance carriers
    • Perform additional duties as needed

The selected candidate will lead the accounting functions for a branch office of a national insurance agency. This position will be responsible for all accounting activities including monthly journal entries, general ledger analysis, and preparation of financial statements, bank reconciliation, annual budgeting and internal controls. Our team will rely on the Accounting Manager to maintain and promote the positive environment of the office while making sure guidelines and processes are met.

    Human Resources Audit Lead - Syracuse, NY

    Brown & Brown Insurance Inc.’s Human Resources Audit Program allows individuals to learn about Human Resources in the insurance industry while growing and developing the skills necessary to be a leader within our ever-growing company. The program is a two-to-three year training program based in Syracuse, NY designed to prepare individuals for a successful future within Brown & Brown. Teammates in the Leadership Program travel to many of our 200+ decentralized locations performing audits based on processes and procedures within the Human Resources discipline.     Initial relocation to Syracuse, NY is required for the two-to-three year period.     Responsibilities:

    • Responsible for reviewing all human resource activities to include employment, compensation, benefits, and training and development for all existing offices.
    • Develop and maintain relationship with internal operating divisions.
    • Assist with FLSA evaluations of job positions of all existing offices.
    • Assist with transition of documentation of job positions and job evaluation systems for all existing offices.
    • Analyze, audit and review payroll processes.
    • Provide advice, assistance and follow-up on company policies, procedures, and documentation.
    • Recommend and advise on maintenance of human resource, payroll, and benefits systems.
    • Recommend policy and procedural improvements for all existing offices.

    Senior Underwriter - Denver, CO

    Job Summary:

    Arrowhead General Insurance Agency, Inc. a subsidiary of Brown & Brown Insurance, has an opportunity for a Senior Underwriter in the Arrowhead Tribal Program - Denver, CO office. The selected candidate will be expected to work effectively in a position that encompasses complex multi-line risks to successfully manage their book of business of new and renewal production, along with contributing to the profitability of the program portfolio.

     

    The Senior Underwriter must be able to illustrate sufficient technical analysis and underwriting acumen to meet underwriting goals (i.e., achieve growth targets, retention ratios, maintain loss and rate objectives) and make recommendations concerning account structure, pricing, deductibles, and loss control and risk improvement plans when referring accounts for loss activity or authority levels.

     

    Responsibilities:

    • Underwrite assigned risk, handling a mix of accounts within their underwriting authority
    • Communicate risk appetite/value propositions to brokers
    • Develop strong long-term broker relationships to profitably grow a book of business
    • Provide superior customer service to brokers and clients
    • Negotiate pricing, terms and conditions & deal structures with broker
    • Influence decisions by use of engineering and analytics to differentiate as required
    • Engage with engineering and claims in risk analysis and underwriting decision-making
    • Manage a book of business including setting up broker plans, target account lists and pipelines along with arranging and monitoring plans for poor performing accounts
    • Participate in other underwriting projects as needed 
    • Other duties as assigned.
