    Brown & Brown is seeking a dedicated client servicing professional to join our Personal Lines team! This individual will provide superior and friendly service to clients by responding to their inquiries and addressing their needs, by matching them to the products and services our agency provides.

     

    Responsibilities:

    • Answer phone calls, assist clients with all service, claims and billing related questions.
    • Process policy changes, review gaps in coverage, suggest new coverages, and rewrite to protect retention for the agency and provide satisfaction to the client.
    • Review each renewal to find gaps, areas to round out accounts.
    • Quote new business and new lines of coverage for existing clients.
    • Prepare applications, coverage checklists and commission disclaimers for insureds’ signatures.
    • Call clients for review of coverages/suggest new costimators, update file information.
    • Process and send new policies to clients.
    • Follow up on Personal Lines Survey letters if applicable.
    • Issue coverage confirmations when downgrading or removing coverage.
    • Document phone conversations in Activity Log.
    • Check all renewals, endorsements, etc. from carrier for accuracy and document in Applied.
    • Keep record of new, rewritten and cancelled policies by month for manager.

    Brown & Brown of Massachusetts, LLC is seeking a highly motivated Accounting Leader who will be responsible for accounting operations and internal controls for our office and will report to the current AL/Office Manager. This role includes all aspects of financial management, including accounting, financial reporting, budget and forecasts preparation, as well as development of internal control policies and procedures. 

     

    This position will include training on  Brown & Brown accounting processes as well as specific business practices and methodologies of Strategic Benefit Advisors.

     

    Responsibilities:

    • Manage accounting operations including monthly close, management reporting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, etc.
    • Prepare financial statements, business activity reports, financial position forecasts, annual budgets, and/or reports required by the corporate office.
    • Develop, prepare, implement, and ensure compliance to internal control policies, guidelines, and procedures for activities such as budget administration, cash and credit management, and accounting operations to align with corporate internal audit guidelines.
    • Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances.
    • Analyze financial details to identify development opportunities and areas where improvement is needed.
    • Primarily responsible for financial operations internal audits and ensure accounting operations are complaint with corporate guidelines.
    • Research technical accounting issues for compliance.

    Accounting Leader Trainee - Southborough, MA

    Strategic Benefit Advisors is growing and seeking an exceptional individual with proven discipline, drive, and commitment to join our team as Accountant (Accounting Leader Trainee)The hired individual will be highly motivated who is looking for a career opportunity for advancement into an Accounting Leader role. The hired individual will be responsible for assisting in the administration of accounting functions by performing the following duties:

     

    Responsibilities:

    • Become familiar with and assist in completing all branch daily accounting functions including cash receipts, cash disbursements, journal entries and vendor/insurance company payables.
    • Become familiar with and prepare branch financials and train in all corporate guidelines including the Brown and Brown Accounting Guidelines.
    • Become familiar with and participate in the accounts receivable process which includes: notifying department managers and producers of potential bad debts, write off all accounts over 119 days to bad debt, follow up with personnel to collect any write offs, monitor any credit balances over 90 days and work with the account manager to clear them from the subsidiary ledger.
    • Learn and perform the surplus lines process of filing taxes with the state, paying taxes to the state, and notifying account managers of any items not filed.
    • Learn the invoice and check approval process.
    • Learn and perform all month-end procedures including month end journal entries, the month end workbook, cost allocations from the administration and suspense departments to the B-40 departments, and running all month end reports including financial statements and subsidiary ledgers that agree to the general ledger control accounts.
    • Prepare and distribute internal departmental performance reports. Assist in preparing reports to respond to Corporate Accounting and DFO ad hoc report requests.
    • Learn and prepare all (SOX Control Self-Assessments).  This includes AR/ICP, Payroll/Flux, SAB 101, Data Retention, Segregation of Duties, and the Bank Reconciliation CSAs.
    • Train in and perform payroll and human resources functions.
    • Learn how to calculate and how the system calculates producer commissions payable and how to review the report detail to catch calculation errors and ensure accurate payments are made to the producers.
    • Participate with budget preparation and learn the entire budget process. This includes working with PCL and department managers to create the budget and make adjustments to the Latest Estimates throughout the year.
    • Learn all accounting aspects of the agency management financial reporting systems. This includes both Applied and AMS360.
    • Participate in at least 2 Financial Operations and Team Resources internal reviews.
    • Train in all finance positions in the Daytona Finance Department
    • Work with the Daytona AL on special projects including but not limited to: a comprehensive review of broker agreements and revenue recognition policies and a comprehensive review of producer compensation structures and updating the producer supplement forms.
